Program Overview

Australia Awards Scholarships are funded by the Australian Government through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). They support people from eligible developing countries to study at an Australian university and then return home to use what they learned. Each country has its own priority fields, rules and application round. The round for study starting in 2027 is closed. On DFAT's OASIS application portal it opened on 1 February 2026 and closed on 30 April 2026 at 2:00 pm Australian Eastern Standard Time. The official Australia Awards Pakistan website says applications are now closed and will reopen in early 2027; that round will be for study starting in 2028. The exact dates are not announced yet, so the deadline shown on this page is only an estimate based on the last round. This page was last checked against the Australia Awards Pakistan website and the OASIS portal on 7 October 2026. Update, 8 October 2026: the official Pakistan site says applications are closed and will reopen in early 2027; the usual window is 1 February to 30 April. From 1 January 2026 the Contribution to Living Expenses is 99.26 Australian dollars a day, about 36,230 dollars a year. The 2026 eligibility checklist said applicants must be Pakistani citizens living in Pakistan for at least the past 24 months, not above 45 years of age, and must return to Pakistan for at least two years after the award. Check the 2027 checklist when the round opens.
