Program Overview

Finland has no single government scholarship for master's students. Finnish universities offer their own scholarships, usually tuition fee waivers, to students from outside the EU and EEA who must pay tuition fees. You usually apply for the scholarship from the university at the same time as you apply for admission. The national joint application for English-taught programmes that start in autumn 2027 runs from 7 to 21 January 2027 on Studyinfo.fi and closes at 15:00 Finnish time. One official page, from the University of Helsinki, shows 5 to 19 January 2027 instead, so check the Studyinfo page of your own programme. You can apply for up to six programmes on one form, and non-EU/EEA citizens pay a one-time national application fee of 100 euros. This page was last checked against Study in Finland and university websites on 7 October 2026.
