Program Overview
Harvard Kennedy School (HKS) awards fellowships and scholarships to master's students, mostly on merit, and the amounts differ from award to award. In 2025–26, 61.5% of HKS students received no financial aid from HKS or Harvard, so do not plan on full funding.
For 2027–28 entry, the admission application is due on 1 December 2026 at 12 noon Eastern Time. After you apply, a Financial Aid tab opens in your status portal, and the financial aid application is due on 15 January 2027 at 12 noon Eastern Time. It includes a general essay, and some fellowships ask for extra essays. Admission and aid decisions come in mid-March 2027. Most universities allow you to apply with a "Hope Certificate" or provisional transcript if you are in your final semester, provided you graduate before the intake starts.
