Program Overview

KAIST admits international students to its master's, integrated master's-PhD and PhD programmes, and the KAIST Scholarship gives full tuition coverage, national health insurance and a monthly stipend that depends on research involvement and varies by college. You choose the KAIST scholarship as your funding source in the admission application; there is no separate scholarship form. KAIST says the scholarship reaches 94% of its international students. The Spring 2027 round is closed: applications ran from 18 August to 1 September 2026. KAIST has not announced the dates for Fall 2027 entry. In earlier years the Fall early track was in December and the regular track in March, so the date shown on this page is only an estimate. Two further awards are made automatically: KGPS (full tuition plus 1,000,000 won a month for 4 semesters) and KPS (full tuition plus 300,000 won a month for 8 semesters). This page was last checked against the KAIST admissions website on 7 October 2026. Checked 8 October 2026: the KAIST admission pages cannot be opened by automated tools, so only these points are confirmed from official KAIST text. Applicants must be citizens of a country other than Korea. An English test score that is still valid on the application deadline is required, and you may ask for a waiver if your earlier degree was taught in English and you provide a certificate from your university. KAIST asks for two recommendation letters, which the referees upload online. The Fall 2027 application dates were not confirmed, so check the official timeline page yourself.
