Program Overview

Monash University awards graduate research scholarships to master's by research and PhD students. You apply for your course and for scholarships together in one application, and eligible applicants are considered automatically for all available awards. The Monash Graduate Scholarship pays a stipend of 41,100 Australian dollars a year at the 2027 rate. Tuition scholarships for international students can be packaged with the stipend, but they are not automatic. International applicants have two rounds a year at the Australian campuses. Round 1 is open from 1 September to 28 February, for enrolment between July and December. Round 3 runs from 4 May to 31 August, for enrolment between January and June. The 31 October date used by some websites is a round for domestic students only. Outcomes come about 6 to 10 weeks after a round closes. This page was last checked against the Monash University website on 7 October 2026.
