Seoul National University Global Scholarships 2027 in South Korea

Seoul National University supports international graduate students mainly through the Graduate Scholarship for Foreign Students (GSFS). You apply for admission and for the GSFS at the same time, in the online admission application, and each graduate school selects its own recipients. You must be admitted to receive it. The application fee is 90,000 won, with no waivers. The Spring 2027 round is closed: admission and GSFS applications were due by 9 July 2026 at 5:00 pm Korea time. Dates for Fall 2027 are not announced, so the date shown on this page is only an estimate. We could not confirm the current scholarship amounts on an official page, so check the GSFS guide on the SNU admissions website. This page was last checked on 7 October 2026. Checked 8 October 2026 against the SNU Office of Global Affairs: the Graduate Scholarship for Excellent Foreign Students (GSFS) pays the full tuition fee for up to four semesters and 500,000 won a month for living costs, for 20 new graduate students who applied to designated departments. You apply online during the international admission period each semester, and you must keep a grade average of 3.0. The official wording says it is for graduates of universities in East, Southeast and Central Asia, and students in China and Japan are not eligible. Pakistan is not named, so ask SNU (intlscholarship@snu.ac.kr) before you rely on it. SNU also lists the SNU President Fellowship and SNU Global Scholarships; the calls for Spring 2027 were posted in July 2026. SNU President Fellowship, checked 8 October 2026 on the official page: it is only for faculty members of major universities in developing countries (Asia, Africa, South America and others) who do not yet hold a PhD and who are admitted to an SNU PhD programme. It pays the full tuition fee for six semesters, 1,500,000 won a month for four years, Korean language training, national health insurance reimbursement and a round-trip economy air ticket. You apply online within the admission period with the fellowship form and study plan, a certificate of employment as a faculty member, a recommendation letter from the dean of the SNU college you are joining, and a video of up to 5 minutes. A letter from your own dean or president gives preference.
