Program Overview

The Chinese Government Scholarship, often called the CSC Scholarship, funds international students for bachelor's, master's and PhD study in China. A full scholarship covers the tuition fee, a university dormitory or accommodation subsidy, a monthly stipend and comprehensive medical insurance; a partial scholarship covers only some of these. Travel to China is paid by the student, according to Pakistan's Higher Education Commission (HEC). There are two routes. Type A goes through the Chinese embassy or a nominating body in your country: in Pakistan this is HEC, and the agency number is 5861. Type B goes directly through a Chinese university. The 2027–28 round is not announced. In the last round, Pakistan had 75 seats and the HEC deadline was 5 January 2026, so the date shown on this page is an estimate. Age limits are under 25 for a bachelor's, under 35 for a master's and under 40 for a PhD. This page was last checked against Chinese embassy and HEC pages on 7 October 2026.
