Program Overview

The PPIA Junior Summer Institute (JSI) is a fully funded summer programme in public policy and international affairs for undergraduates. Fellows take graduate-level courses at one of three host universities: Harvard, Princeton or the University of Michigan. Applications for 2027 are open until 6 November 2026 at 11:59 PM Eastern time. Students graduating in December 2027, or between May and August 2028, can apply. Check the citizenship rule before you apply. The programme is for undergraduates at US colleges. In the last cycle, US citizens, permanent residents and DACA recipients could apply to all host schools, and international students studying at US colleges could apply to Princeton only. The PPIA 2027 page does not restate the rule, so confirm it in the application form. Students studying outside the USA cannot take part. The Harvard institute runs from 13 June to 30 July 2027. This page was last checked against the PPIA website on 7 October 2026.
