Master Mind Scholarship 2027 at KU Leuven in Belgium (Master’s Scholarship for International Students)

The Master Mind Scholarship is a merit-based award from the Flemish Ministry of Education and Training for outstanding students from around the world who want to take a Master's degree at KU Leuven in Belgium. Applications for the 2027-2028 academic year opened on 15 October 2026 and close on 15 January 2027 at 23:59 CET. KU Leuven says the information is preliminary and subject to change, pending confirmation no later than January 2027. For 2027-2028, KU Leuven lists a scholarship of 10,750 euros to cover the full length of the programme, with the tuition fee at approximately 1,200 euros per academic year (the EEA tariff). The scholarship lasts one academic year for a 60 ECTS Master's and two academic years for a 120 ECTS Master's, and KU Leuven lists 3 Master Mind Scholarships. Study in Flanders notes that the scheme is under review by the Ministry, so the grant, selection process and conditions may change for 2027-2028. The same application also puts you in the running for four KU Leuven scholarships. The Inspiring the Outstanding Scholarship gives a full tuition fee waiver (you pay only an administration fee of about 140 euros) and 13,200 euros per academic year for up to two years. The KU Leuven ASEAN Scholarship, the KU Leuven Scholarship for Africa and the KU Leuven Scholarship for Central and South America each give a full tuition fee waiver and 4,000 euros for the full programme, for nationals and residents of the eligible countries. All nationalities are eligible. You need a high grade point average, previous degrees from a university outside Flanders, and good English, with a language test taken before 15 January 2027 unless you studied in English in Australia, English-speaking Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom or the United States. Students already enrolled at a Flemish institution are not eligible, and bridging and distance learning programmes are excluded. To apply, submit a complete application for an eligible Master's programme with the KU Leuven Scholarships and Master Mind Candidacy Form uploaded as an annexe, then register your candidacy online, both by 15 January 2027. Last checked on 29 October 2026 against the KU Leuven scholarship database pages for 2027-2028 (Master Mind Scholarship, Inspiring the Outstanding Scholarship, ASEAN, Africa, Central and South America, eligible programmes and registration), the KU Leuven candidacy form, the KU Leuven application instructions and the Study in Flanders Master Mind Scholarships page.
