Program Overview

The Singapore International Graduate Award (SINGA) is a collaboration among A*STAR, NTU, NUS, SUTD, SMU and SIT. It is a bond-free award for international students with excellent undergraduate or master's results and a strong interest in research leading to a PhD or an EngD in science and engineering at a Singapore university. NUS and NTU offer the PhD, SMU and SUTD offer the PhD and the EngD, and SIT offers the EngD. On 7 October 2026 the official A*STAR page did not show us the deadline or the stipend details, so we could not confirm them. The deadline below is an estimate based on earlier rounds (1 December for the August intake), and the exact stipend and allowance amounts are not shown here. Confirm both on the official SINGA page before you apply. Checked 8 October 2026 against the official A*STAR page: SINGA is a bond-free award for a PhD or EngD in science and engineering. Degrees are awarded by NUS (PhD), NTU (PhD), SMU (PhD, EngD), SUTD (PhD, EngD) and SIT (EngD), and research can also be done at A*STAR institutes. The page we could open does not show the stipend or the deadlines, so check the official application portal for the current figures and dates.
