Program Overview

FASPE, the Fellowships at Auschwitz for the Study of Professional Ethics, is a fully funded two-week programme in Germany and Poland for graduate students and early-career professionals. Fellows study the conduct of professionals in Nazi Germany at historic sites, then discuss the ethical questions their own professions face today. There are six programmes: Business, Clergy and Religious Leaders, Design and Technology, Journalism, Law and Medical. FASPE awards 85 fellowships a year, with about 13 to 16 fellows in each programme. The 2027 Law, Business, and Design and Technology programmes run from 28 May to 11 June 2027. The Medical, Clergy and Journalism programmes run from 18 June to 2 July 2027. FASPE covers all programme costs and related travel, including economy flights, hotels, group transport, admission fees, group meals and pocket money for other meals. Applications close on 3 January 2027, and recommendation letters are due by 10 January 2027. Applicants of any citizenship or residency can apply. Programming is in English, and each programme sets its own eligibility rules. Decisions are expected in early to mid-March. This page was last checked against the FASPE website on 21 October 2026.
