Program Overview

Mundus MAPP is an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's in Public Policy run by four universities: Central European University (CEU) in Vienna, Austria; the Institut Barcelona d'Estudis Internacionals (IBEI) in Spain; the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) of Erasmus University Rotterdam in The Hague, Netherlands; and the University of York in the UK. Students follow one of four two-year tracks: Global Public Policy (CEU-IBEI), European Public Policy (CEU-York), Political Economy and Development (ISS-IBEI) or Governance and Development (ISS-York). The first round for the 2027-2029 cohort, for scholarship applicants and early self-funded applicants, closes on 1 December 2026. Decisions, including Erasmus Mundus scholarships, are due on 14 April 2027. Self-funded applicants from outside the EU/EEA can apply until 15 April 2027, and EU/EEA self-funded applicants until 1 July 2027. There is no application fee. The Erasmus Mundus scholarship gives a full tuition fee waiver and up to 33,600 euros (1,400 euros a month for 24 months) for travel, visa, installation and living costs. The consortium also pays health insurance for enrolled students. Tuition without a scholarship is 13,000 euros a year. You need a bachelor's degree of at least three years, preferably in the social sciences (natural sciences and engineering degrees are not eligible), with at least an upper second class or a GPA of 3.17 out of 4.0, and English such as IELTS Academic 7 or TOEFL iBT 95. This page was last checked against the Mundus MAPP website on 21 October 2026.
